Buoyant Mood for Futurity Awards
The horses scoring top marks during 2008’s Futurity Young Horse Evaluations received their awards at the British Breeders’ Dinner on
After a welcome by British Breeding Chairman, Desi Dillingham, Guest Speaker, Yogi Breisner, expressed his satisfaction that British breeders are now beginning to work well together for a common goal and that the prospect of a British medal winning team mounted on British bred horses could genuinely become a reality. The mood at the dinner was definitely very positive with the standard of winning horses, and the bloodines they carry, being better than ever.
2009 sees a planned 12 evaluation dates for the Baileys Horse Feeds/BEF Futurity Young Horse Evaluations, a massive three fold increase since its inception and making it the major young horse assessment procedure in the UK. Horses from foals to three year olds are assessed on their potential in the three Olympic disciplines by specially trained objective evaluators who award them marks for criteria, including conformation, athleticism paces and temperament.
