Rosette Cricket Score

Well the new Baileys team are going well! Sunday saw us at Sands Farm Equitation Centre. Buzz Whizer won the In-Hand Championship in the morning. He was much better behaved than the week before and a change of bridle seems to have done the trick!!

The ridden section also produced good results with Prosperio winning the coloured class and the new Hunter winning the Hunter class and then going Champion. Astronomy, who is for sale, won the In-Hand Cob class and was second in the Ridden section, which was a great result for a four-year-old’s first time out. Unfortunately, we just can't keep all these cobs!

Easter Monday was Baileys New Crew Day

So here they are!! A new coloured cob called Prosper, or Goldie at home, whose been here for three weeks and this was his first time in my lorry! The new recruits went to Packersham Spring Show and Prosper was placed second while his stable mate, Planet Nine, won the cob class!
Then there's a new coloured whose been here a week called Buzz Wizer! He did the coloured in hand class. He was quite unruly and collected a fourth place! He came as a manners test! Conclusion is that he hasn't got any but he moves well! So, plenty of work before he can come out as a ridden prospect.
Then there is a real change - a middle weight
17 hh hunter whose been here for ten days. He was bought locally from the field and has not been in work for a while! He is 6 years old and called Celestial Rock. He did the hunter class and finished fourth. We have another "little" outing planned next week and the hunter is off to Surrey County in the Novice Hunter class!

Tuesday Showing Time

Tuesday is a strange day for a show but 5.30am saw us going to the Spring Show at the South of England show ground fully loaded and freezing cold! Volantis did the Heavy Weight Cob class, collecting a third place while Planet Nine made his first appearance in a very large Novice Cob class. In fact, I think it was the biggest class of the day. Luckily, I had loads of time to ride in as to start with I didn't have too much control! He was very good though and finished third to cobs who had been out before. Jovian, the Maxi Cob, was on form and won his class whilst Baileys ex-racehorse, Mr Oosh, also won despite dying for a pee!!
Next stop will be a couple of local shows as we have some new additions to the Baileys Team need to try and test them!

Spring Into Step

The Baileys team were out in the forest at Brook Farm this weekend! Super Moon, aka Frog, won the Novice class. It was a strong class so I was pleased as he has only been backed since the end of November 2017 and he was not easy!! Volantis picked up a second win in the Heavy Weight cob class and went Reserve Champion to the Hoys Supreme Champion, so we could not beat that!!

Cappa Sham made his 2017 presence felt by winning the Maxi, picking up his Royal International ticket and Reserve Coloured Champion. So it was four out of four and a good "Baileys " day!!
