Six months ago, we held an exclusive competition for two Baileys’ customers to have their horses featured on one of our famous and distinctive lorry trailer curtains. This really was a unique competition - not only was it the first time we’d held a competition to win a place on the side of a lorry trailer curtain, but we only upgrade our rolling stock every few years.
To enter, customers had to tell us everything about their horse, what they fed and why. We were overwhelmed with the entries but, from a very long list, Izabela Motyl, with Buddy, and Margaret Taylor, with Mr Tom, were selected.
Buddy is a 7-year-old Welsh Cob X who Izabela regularly hacks, schools and competes in Riding Club competitions. She even took him with her to Hartpury College, where she was introduced to our feeds and has never looked back. Because Buddy carries weight easily, Izabela feeds him No.19 Performance Balancer (to support his workload) and a handful of oats (for a bit of oomph).
Mr Tom has made history. He is the first coloured cob to be featured on a Baileys lorry trailer curtain. He is a 15-year-old 13.3h traditional cob whom Margaret enjoys hacking, almost every day. Margaret gives Mr Tom Lo-Cal Balancer alongside Light Chaff and Speedi-Beet and has fed Baileys for as long as she can remember.
We arranged for each winner to have a professional photoshoot and the next challenge, for us, came from selecting the most striking photo for the lorry trailer curtain (check out a few from each shoot we’ve shared on our Facebook page). There were so many to choose from but we got there in the end. Watch out for the photos of Buddy and Mr Tom on our trailer curtains as the lorries travel the length and breadth of the country, making deliveries.
