From Edenbridge and Oxted to Bucks County Show

It was a very hot Bank Holiday and the Baileys Team went to Edenbridge and Oxted Show. We didn’t take too many as it was so hot. With a class at 7.45am, it was an early 3am start as the first horse in was Mr Oosh, the ex-racer, who needs heaps of work beforehand. Arriving there at just after 6am, he was working in at 6.15am! But it was worth it as he won his class, qualifying for the supreme. I got off him and onto the heavyweight hunter, Mayday Flyer, in the main ring which was huge and the going great considering the weather. Clocking second place I had an even better ride in the championship. However, the ladies’ class was not so good. I got a good ride from him, but the judge didn’t, so, a hasty retreat.

The following Thursday was another early 3am start for the Bucks County Show. Helios got his Royal International coloured ticket for 2020, was third in the Maxi class and won the Healthiest Body Score rosette. It must be the good food!

With massive classes, Starfall was fifth in the Heavyweight class and Em was placed fourth. It was a very difficult ring as it was unlevel and there was far too much going on for young horses with motor bike leaping in the next ring – it makes Horse of the Year Show seem quiet!
