The BSPA

Showing started in the cold this weekend with the British Skewbald and Piebald Association festival at Keysoe Equestrian Centre. I took 3 horses and froze! Tarvos, a coming 5 year old lightweight cob, had his first outing, having only been here for four weeks. He was a bit bright and a handful for me but took fifth place after he went well for the judge! His stable mate, Volantis, went well but I think the judges thought he was a heavyweight so he only claimed sixth place, whereas, Jovian, a maxi cob, won his class and got his Royal International ticket! The judges both really loved him so that made the long journey and the cold worthwhile!

We ended up getting home very late and had to turn the crew around for Bury Farm the following day. We took Tarvos as a late entry and this time the judge loved his way of going. He settled in the big indoor arena and won his class. Volantis was third but still looked heavy in the lightweight class, so we will now move him up a weight, whilst Jovian and Pinkie were a bit tied and pulled off second place. It was a long day for baby horses so they all spent the next day out in the field for a short break!!
