Well it was a manic weekend! On Friday, we went off to Aintree, leaving at 5 am to beat the traffic for Saturday classes. It took six hours and we finally got there! I spent three hours riding in then it was time to catch up with my friends with a bath and solarium, for the horse that is, not me! Such great facilities there.
Unfortunately, things did not go to plan! I won the Hunter class after a trip 4 times round the all-weather track and plenty of work but he just did not settle in the home of racing! So, I called it a day and left on Sunday morning without doing the other classes I had entered and went via North Wales to pick up Dolly and Dora, two new Scottie pups.
We got back late on Sunday to turn the lorry round and load up for Edenbridge and Oxted Agricultural show, where I took the cobs…… so much easier. Cappa Sham was second in a huge HOYS Ladies Class and Volantis won the Coloureds and was Reserve Champion. Back home again now and getting ready for Bucks County Show.
