Did you say mud?

Well it's been a busy week. We had Mid-Herts Country Show at Keysoe last weekend, which was a real wash out. It poured with rain so there are no pictures! Ponies and jockey don't like the rain!! However, Planet Nine was third in the Novice class and Jovian, who's reins were getting very hard to hold as it was chucking it down, finished Reserve Champion.

From there, we had Monday to prepare and dry everything off before heading to one of my favourite shows, the New Forest & Hampshire County Show! The day started badly after a dreadful accident with the horse box ramp arm, which nearly blinded me! I now have a huge black eye and piece missing out of my head. We also got stuck for an hour and a half in traffic getting there and I lost valuable working in time! Due to this the ex-racehorse, Mr Oosh, was not ready and didn't complete the class! Cappa Sham only came fifth in the Ladies Horse class and Jovian was fifth in the ID class! The next competing day made up for it though. The team gained another 2 HOYS tickets when Cappa Sham won the Maxi Class and Volantis picked up his ticket.

Hickstead (The Royal International Horse Show) was wet!! I didn’t take many as we were busy at the New Forest show. Jovian did the Maxi Cob class and found the going very heavy, as did many of the younger horses, to finish sixth, which I was disappointed with as I felt he gave the judge a good ride. Volantis collected eighth place in a huge class but, as last year’s HOYS winner did not get placed, I suppose it was not too bad.

We set up camp in the corner of the parking field on the first day. However, on the Sunday it took 2.30 hours to get towed out as it was so muddy!!!!! We’ve got a week to clean up before we’re off again!
