Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud

To say the Equestrian.com Hickstead Derby Meeting was wet is an understatement! I judged the workers and the course was reduced to cope with the ground. Six clear rounds were achieved, which was great. I had super rides and it was great galloping up the hill on the all-weather track. I Really enjoyed it! Some great improvements at the show as there is now a track from the bottom of the all-weather arena to the other rings, so no more pram dodging and people hopping.

Sunday Derby day brought more mud than ever, how we all got lorries in and out of the show ground I will never know and the parking boys did a great job. I got there at 5.20 am to park and was up at 3 am for a local show! I did the coloured class, which was in a very muddy ring 3. I can't believe so many turned up for it, it was a huge class starting at 7.30 am. We finished in second place, so a good result for Cappa Sham.

Baby Bear, the new cob, went on both days to get a taste of the future along with Tiger Feat, a race horse just out of training. Both were very good so looking forward to taking them out. Now I get a weekend off! Next stop will be Kent County Show!
